Little Big Fund started with a simple question from a funder and two social entrepreneurs:

What if emerging nonprofit leaders with big dreams had the fundraising tools, mentorship, and small grants they needed to make those dreams a little more possible — while building the confidence and resilience to keep going?

Over the next few years, that question became a program designed around what early-stage nonprofit leaders actually need: practical fundraising and grant-writing skills, generous mentors and networks, and access to micro-grants that make it possible to try something new.

And, of course, we’re still learning and evolving along the way.

Meet the people who make Little Big Fund what it is today.

Team

Gayle is the Chief Vision Officer at Little Big Fund, having launched the program over 5 years ago. She supports program delivery, network-building, and course exposure. Gayle received her Bachelors from Skidmore College and is the Founder and Executive Director of the Red Empress Foundation; and one of the Co-Founders of Needle & Frame. A career in advertising was followed by a career in teaching—all while being a mom to two wonderful children. In 2012, with those children grown, Gayle decided to pursue a life-long dream to create collaborative, social-impact documentary films. 

Abhi is the Director of Little Big Fund, where he shapes the fellowship, builds the curriculum, and helps bring the programs (and the bigger vision) to life.

He’s also the Executive Director of Bean Voyage, a nonprofit social enterprise working alongside smallholder women coffee producers in Costa Rica to build thriving livelihoods through training and market access.

Abhi holds a BA in Political Science from Earlham College and has been a Re Fellow, Cordes Fellow, Resolution Fellow, Trust Scholar, Watson Scholar, and One Young World Ambassador.

Most of all, he loves building spaces where people can try things, learn from each other, and turn big ideas into something real.
